This year it is 70 years ago that the first framework for mercantile collaboration between the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg (the so called customs-agreement, providing free traffic of merchandise) was initiated.
Out of this grew BeNeLux, later on the European Coal and Steel Community, and eventually the European Union.
The Dutch Business Association De Kring and the Chamber of Commerce of Belgium and Luxemburg in Barcelona want to celebrate this occasion in an event where Guy Verhofstadt, (former prime-minister of Belgium and president of ALDE in the European parliament), and Jordi Gual (president of Caixabank and forme
r economic advisor to the European Commission) wil speak with Lluís Amiguet about a project that was based on convergence through trade in Europe.
