Presentation of the Dutch Business Association in Barcelona
The Kring Nederlands Bedrijfsleven Barcelona (KNB) was established 1968. It is one of the largest and most active international business associations in Spain. The association unites Dutch speaking managers and directors in Catalonia by combining business and pleasure through a number of activities and lectures.
Once a month, in principle the third Thursday of each month, except August, the board organises a meeting with an interesting guest speaker or a company visit. The high level of content of each lecture is especially important. In 2005 and 2006 we gathered a series of important guest speakers such as ex-President of Catalonia Mr Jordi Pujol, Mr Jordi Gual, professor at IESE Business School and Vicepresident Servicio Estudios "LA Caixa" and Mr John van Haren, President of Corio España.
Apart from lectures, the association organises a series of company visits to local outstanding organisations such as SEAT, Ficosa, and FC Barcelona. In addition, a yearly visit to a top Management School in Barcelona, IESE or ESADE, is on the programme. Apart from their high content level, the meetings are characterised by a good atmosphere and ample opportunity for social networking. The KNB functions at a business level as an interesting network. The members get to know each other during the different activities and build mutually benefiting relationships. In 2006 the association counted almost 80 members.
